The Magic of Words: Pre-Primary Special Assembly
Our Pre-Primary wing hosted a delightful special assembly centered on “magic words” — please, thank you, sorry, and excuse me. Through skits, songs, and playful role-play, our littlest Vegans learned that these small words carry big power. In fact, they build kindness and respect in everyday life. Parents and teachers watched proudly as children used these words with confidence in real scenarios. This early start shows that good manners truly begin young, something we nurture through experiential learning at every stage.
Celebrating Literacy Week
Vega Schools came alive with stories, storytelling, and a shared love for reading during Literacy Week. Classrooms transformed into cozy reading corners. Meanwhile, students took part in book character dress-up days, poster-making, and read-aloud sessions. Additionally, older learners explored creative writing and debate activities. The week reinforced our belief that literacy is the foundation of lifelong learning. As a result, the enthusiasm across every grade level made it one of the most memorable celebrations on campus this year.
When Parents Become Students: Parent Walkthrough Experience
One of July’s most heartwarming initiatives was our Parent Walkthrough programme, held twice during the month. Parents stepped into their child’s world, sitting at tiny desks and joining in hands-on activities. In other words, they experienced lessons exactly as their children do, every single day. This immersive experience gave parents a genuine understanding of how learning looks and feels at Vega. Beyond report cards and PTMs, it revealed the everyday effort behind each lesson. Consequently, the feedback was overwhelming, with many parents sharing that it deepened their appreciation for our approach to holistic education.
Kavach: Self-Defence Workshop for Students and Teachers
Safety and empowerment took center stage with “Kavach,” a self-defence workshop for both students and teachers. Led by trained instructors, the sessions covered practical techniques for personal safety and situational awareness. Above all, they focused on building real confidence. It wasn’t just about physical defence, though. Instead, it was about instilling a mindset of alertness and resilience across our school community.
Looking Ahead
