India is a land of rich diversity, with many cultures, languages, and traditions coming together as one nation. Despite these differences, we are united by a shared identity—we are Indians. This unity in diversity is our true strength. At Vega Schools, Republic Day is celebrated not merely as a national event, but as a meaningful opportunity to nurture emotional bonding, pride, and responsibility towards the nation in every learner.
Vega Schools believes that Republic Day should go beyond ceremonial celebrations. It is a time for learners to feel, experience, and understand the values of the Republic and the Constitution of India. We aim to inculcate patriotism, nationalism, and respect for democratic values, helping learners grow into conscious and responsible citizens.
A Week-long Celebration of the Republic
To deepen learners’ understanding, Vega Schools organised a week-long Republic Day celebration filled with enthusiasm, creativity, and learning. Through various subjects and art forms such as processions, march-past, dance, music, theatre, speeches, and artwork, learners explored the spirit of Republic Day in meaningful ways. Each cohort participated in age-appropriate activities designed to help them connect with the nation at their own level.
PN to Grade 1: Joyful Beginnings
The celebration for PN to Grade 1 learners was filled with excitement and joy. Dressed in the tricolour and proudly holding the national flag, our youngest learners participated in a march-past accompanied by rhythmic drum beats. Their enthusiasm and confidence were heart-warming to witness.
Following the march-past, learners danced and sang patriotic songs together, creating an energetic and cheerful atmosphere. Creative craft activities allowed them to express their feelings for the nation. During an interactive question-and-answer session, learners enthusiastically shared their understanding of basic rights and responsibilities, learning that both go hand in hand. The celebration helped plant the first seeds of patriotism in a joyful and age-appropriate manner.
Grades 2 to 11: Understanding Rights and Responsibilities
Vega Schools strongly believes that rights and responsibilities are deeply connected, and learners must understand this relationship from an early age. With this philosophy, a Republic Day Special Assembly for Grades 2 to 11 was conducted by the Grade 6 learners.
The assembly began with a prayer, followed by inspiring words and a thoughtful speech by a learner. Through a well-researched and engaging skit, learners explained the importance of the Constitution, its role after Independence, and its relevance in shaping responsible citizens today. The script, written by the learners and guided by the Learning Leader, was powerfully executed and encouraged the audience to reflect.
The assembly continued with a graceful classical and semi-classical dance performance on “Jayatu Jayatu Bharatam,” which created a deeply patriotic ambience. An interactive question session followed, where learners confidently responded, demonstrating their understanding. The assembly concluded with meaningful words from the Vice Principal and the National Anthem.

Republic Day Celebration with Grade 5 Parents
At Vega Schools, parents are valued as partners in the learning journey. This year, Grade 5 parents were invited to celebrate Republic Day along with the learners, making the occasion even more special.
The assembly opened with inspiring lines and a speech by learners, followed by a prayer. The Principal addressed the gathering with motivating words that filled both parents and learners with pride. A contemporary skit presented by the learners left the audience thoughtful and deeply engaged. The song presentation touched hearts, while an energetic Bhangra dance brought joy and excitement, with parents joining in the celebration.
The programme concluded with insightful words from the Vice Principal, leaving parents inspired and emotionally connected to the spirit of the nation.
Beyond a Celebration
At Vega Schools, Republic Day is not a one-day event but a lived experience. It is a celebration where every child actively participates, understands the values of the Republic, and develops love and respect for the motherland. Through these meaningful experiences, learners realise that celebrating the nation also means living its values every day.
Vega Schools continues to nurture young minds who celebrate India not only in words and performances, but through responsibility, respect, and pride in being Indian.
